Augie Miller's Seedlings
These are in the Hibiscus Register in 2005
This list gives a clear indication that Augie Miller was
ahead of his time and extremely influential with the hybridizers who have
followed during the last 50 years. The
Jim Howie Nomenclature shows just how important these varieties were in
Australia in 1980. So much of my early exposure to Hibiscus was to
Augie Miler hybrids or their subsequent progeny. See also the Geoff
Harvey tribute to Augie Miller. Note that there
wasn't any emphasis on keeping the breeding records for posterity.
Today, that is disappointing.
